The education system of India is changed from ancient times. Now students went to schools for Education rather than going to Gurukuls. The school system was brought to India by Lord Thomas Babington Macaulay in 1830, where modern subjects like maths, science, and English were part of the Education. Which was only accessible by the rich people of the country but now the Indian education system is so evolved that schools are open for every student, whether they are rich or poor. Whereas the education system has been divided into the following parts:-
Primary
Education
Primary
Education is further divided into two systems
Lower
primary – From class 1 to 5.
Upper
Primary – From Class 6 to 8.
Education in a lower primary and upper primary is mandatory for every
child and free of cost in India. The primary Education of any student starts
from the age of 6 and ends at 14 years. The schooling for this stage is
provided by state schools, private schools, and government schools. In
government schools, the regional or primary language is the medium state
language, and a secondary language is English that starts with grade 3.
Secondary
Education
Secondary
Education of any students begins from class 9 till 12. This educational phase
is divided into two cycles of two-two years.
General
or Lower Secondary Education – Standard 9 and 10.
Upper
or Senior Secondary Education – Standard 11 and 12.
Many government schools provide secondary Education without any
cost, but private schools are more popular for these schools. The public
examinations are held at the end of both cycles to access their university
education. Students have to select the subject such as Mathematics, Science and
Technology, Social Sciences, Pre-Vocational Education, Arts, Physical
Education, and many other subjects where they wanted to build their career.
These schools are interconnected with the Central or state board that grants
Secondary school certificates at the end of both cycles.
Tertiary
Education
The tertiary education system is the higher education system of India, which was
implemented in 1947. This education policy was based on the British system of
Education. The Education of universities is controlled by University Grants
Commission (UGC). UGC is responsible for the development of higher education,
allocating funds, and recognition of institutions. UGC established NAAC or
National Accreditation or Assessment Council to decide the alphabetical
rankings of the universities.
NAAC usually works to determine the quality status of universities that
shows the particular standards of institutions with other best ones. Every
university must participate in the accreditation process of NAAC.
